Almost doesnt count!

All these years and the singer Brandy had it right the whole time. In her song "Almost doesn't count" she shows that sometimes almost just isn't good enough, and the same is true in the makeup world. As you may recall I tried a mascara that was almost 100% natural, and it was a huge FAILURE in my book. So I decided to step it up and purchase a 100% natural, 100% vegan Fruit Pigmented mascara from 100% Pure. Since I was so disappointed with my last "natural" mascara I decided to purchase the $16.00 mini mascara in the color black tea instead of the full sized tube which costs $22.00. The mascara is available in three colors Blackberry, Blueberry and Black tea.
**I will post the complete ingredients list at the end of this post, but each item made me squeal with delight-I LOVE natural products!
The Application
This product does not clump and it certainly makes my lashes look longer. Unlike the last "natural" mascara that I tried this fruit pigmented mascara did not flake off on my face. A single application in the morning would last me throughout the entire day. This mascara will not give you dramatic lashes, if that's what you are looking for then use a primer first. However a primer will basically negate the purpose in using a natural mascara (unless it's a natural primer). I didn't get dramatic lashes, but I wasn't necessarily looking for that so I was beyond content. The mascara did give me that extra umph that I want for my lashes. It reminds me of a darker and all natural version of the stiletto mascara. I will certainly purchase this product again. A reader posted a comment on my youtube channel and she mentioned this mascara and how much she likes it, so I am not alone on this one..lol.

In the next picture ignore the hairs in the corner, I made no effort to get them..lol

Here is the ingredients list for the black tea mascara: Ingredients: Organic Green Tea, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Honey Beeswax, Contains All or some of the following Pigments: Blackberry, Blueberry, Black Tea, Grape Skin, Pomegranate, Acai Berry, Boysenberry, Blackcurrant and Raspberry, Oat Protein, Wheat Protein, Provitamin B5, Seaweed Powder, Coconut Stearic acid, Mica (for shimmer in the Blackberry and Blueberry), Cocoa Butter, Pearl Powder, Rice Powder, Cacao Powder and Powdered Coffee Beans, Lavender Honey, Extracts of Oregano, Thyme, Rosemary, Lavender and Goldenseal.

Impressive right????

A different purpose

The picture above is of the Darcy's Botanicals hair Conditioning oil. It contains jojoba oil, hibiscus leaves, coconut oil and a few other oils. The product can be used on wet or dry hair and surprisingly it is a very light concoction. Although I tried this $12.00 product on my hair, I will not use it for it's intended purpose. Instead, I have been using this as a body oil and I love it. It does smell like coconut oil more than anything else but my skin just seems to absorb this mixture, and it makes my skin glow.
Which products do you use from head to toe?

There's a new mixtress on the block!

I'm always thrilled to see entrepreneurs on the scene so I am so pleased to present you with Rosalyn's Scent. Cassandra, the owner of Rosalyn's Scent, has created a medley of products for your body, ranging from thick body butters to body fragrances. I should also mention that the prices are recession friendly! What could be more recession friendly than winning a full size product and all you would have to pay is the $4.95 shipping price tag. Each month you have a chance to win one of her free goodies- check it out here.

When I first tried her products I immediately fell in love with the Mango scented body butter. I literally had to stop using it so that I could take a picture of it instead of showing you all an empty container. Surprisingly, the butter wasn't too thick for this summer weather, but I could also see myself using it in the winter to avoid having dry skin.
Next up is the creamy coconut body cream which has the consistency of custard, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. All of her products include natural ingredients like shea butter and essential oils, so you know that just tickled my heart.
Many of you are fragrance addicts, you need spritzers, perfumes and body splashes in all of your purses, just in case. Well Rosalyn Scents also offers delicious fragrances in a roll on tube which is easy enough to pack in the smallest clutch purse. Right at this very moment she is offering scents for $1.50 because she has decided to discontinue certain fragrances. For 1.50, you just can't go wrong, so get it while supplies last. Check out the closeout fragrances here. There are so many different scents to try so I am very excited, but I believe the banana crumble body butter is next on my list. We are all different and we can appreciate different scents, so what really caught my eye is the fact that Rosalyn's Scent can provide you with CUSTOM SCENTS. Can you imagine having your own signature scent....I love that idea.

100% Pure Haul & I fixed the videos from yesterday

If you haven't guessed by now, I love natural products, so when I saw what appeared to be the deal of the century I jumped. I have spoken about 100% pure in the past and I just adore their products. Recently I saw a limited time offer on their site, I was able to purchase 50 of their samples for 5.00. I purchased 3 bags and I can tell you that the sample is more than enough. Each packet is the size of a packet of ketchup and with the consistency of the product I was able to moisturize my hands and arms (up to my elbows) two times with a little left over in the package. One bag that I ordered was a mixed bag so it included body wash samples as well.

When it comes to natural body washes that smell fabulous 100% pure hands down has control of this market! I am going to send an message to the founder of the company to see if she will run this offer again SOOOOOON because I want more and I want you to be able to make a $5.00 purchase as well. At least this will be an inexpensive way for you to see if you like what the company has to offer.
Side note- Please ask me why I never purchased the 100% pure bar body soap????? I know that the majority of the liquid washes smell down right delicious so why the wait?? I think I thought the soaps would be small but I checked the ounces and immediately placed my order. I think it will smell better than the other soaps I have used, and looking at the ounces I know it will be bigger!
Although I purchased the scrubs and body washes many times in the past, this is the first time that I picked up anything from their cosmetics division. I purchased a natural peach scented lip balm ($13.00) that comes in a cute little tin with a peach on the lid. I also picked up a natural mascara for $16.00, I purchased the mini just in case I don't like. I tested it out but I have to do more test before I do my official review of the mascara. (the mascara is shown in the first pic, it's the silver tube on top of the pile of samples).
Finally, I purchased the oatmeal facial cleanser for $8.00. I will review that at a later date as well.

Check the video for if so you desire.

I also fixed the video from yesteday, it was too long for Youtube- here it is

No competition!

Darcy's Botanical NEW Herbal Leave in Spritz. vs. Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla leave in conditioner.
Both products claim to condition and moisturize your hair but one one delivers on that claim.
I think all hair textures can receive added moisture from the product that wins this battle. Check out my review.

Exploring L'Occitane

While many companies are now trying to incorporate good ingredients into their products, there is one company that has been doing just that for 20 years. L’Occitane has infused shea butter into many of their products ranging from their shampoos to body creams. What I am most impressed by is the high percentage of shea butter found in their products. The feature of the day is the Ultra Rich Body Cream by L’Occitane which consists of a whopping 25% shea butter! L’Occitane didn’t stop there, this rich cream also includes rosemary, fruit extracts, wheat germ oil, almond oil honey and other skin nurturing ingredients. The single paraben that made an appearance on the ingredients list is the only item that caused me to raise an eyebrow.
This is the type of lotion that makes your skin glow without making you look greasy. It leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. It is a very creamy formula but it is not loose, it has some real hold to it. Having “hold” means that you can turn the jar upside down and the product will not ooze out of the jar and onto your floor.
You can purchase this product for $39.00 for a 7oz jar.
Have you purchased anything from L’Occitane?

Spray on the Shine!

I can honestly say that I did not think I would ever review a hair spray because in general I hate them. Aside from the usual parabens and other chemicals, many of the hair sprays on the market are loaded with alcohol. Depending on the quantity and frequency of your hair spray usage, you could be adding way to much alcohol to your tresses, which can dry them out over time. Anywhoooo since I won this little baby online I decided to test it out, especially since this particular Soft and Beautiful product has no parabens. I am so pleased to report that this may be one of the best commercial hair sprays I have ever used. It leaves my hair with a brilliant shine that lasts for days. When I touch my hair, my fingers are not left with a greasy film. You will find, grape seed oil, jojoba oil and almond oil on the ingredients list which probably explains that lovely shine that you will get from this can of spray.
You can check for the Soft and Beautiful Ultimate Protection Oil Sheen and conditioning spray in your local beauty supply store for roughly $4.50.
Do you use hair spray?

On another note
I think these are the best pictures I have ever seen of Solonge...what do you think?

Colored lids

Despite the fact that I look cross eyed, the point of the picture above is to show that I am trying to slowly introduce bright colors into my beauty arsenal. I purchased an emerald green eyeliner by Stila. I must say forget about MAC, or Laura Mercer, which I posted on recently, because the Stila eyeliner is the softest I have ever used. Believe me when I tell you this little $19.00 gem just glided ever so softly across my bottom lids. And don't be fooled by the soft application, regular soap and water can not easily remove this liner.

This is truly a keeper!!!!!

What eyeliner colors are you using?

Does the white eye liner actually make your eyes look wider?
