WNTW and the Failed NOTD
Hello Everyone
Here is my latest WNTW (What's New This Week) video highlighting a few of my latest purchases. If you scroll to the end of this post, you will also see my Julep nail polish in the color Amber which I tried to rock yesterday.
When I walked into Sephora and I saw a mini collection of matte suede Julep polishes, I knew this would be my moment to finally try out something interesting from the brand. I purchased two colors, one which is featured in this post named Amber. The color reminds me of taupe mixed with pewter and combined it makes a really lovely shade. I did not use a base coat and I certainly didn't use a top coat which would disturb the intended matte finish. Here is what the polished looked like on my freshly manicured hands.
You may get a better feel for the color in the video I posted above. Although I love the color and finish of this $14, 3Free formula polish, I did not appreciate its inability to remain on my nails.
Unfortunately, my manicure didn't even make it through the entire day before this matte polish began to chip.
Perhaps this issue only exists with the Julep matte collection, which would not be shocking since many matte formulas tend to be problematic in one way or another. Have you tried Julep polishes? If so what has been your experience?
What was your must have product of the summer?
Thanks for reading

Operation Relaxation- Part 1, NOTW & More
After a long week at work what does a gal need more than a little down time? I decided to pick up a few items that would assist me in my journey towards relaxation and rejuvenation.
In this post I will focus on the Mint n Rose Spa Soak by Pooka Pure and Simple. As soon as you open the jar you are greeting by the scent of peppermint and roses. I have said many times on this blog that I do not like the scent of flowers and peppermint doesn't necessarily hit the spot either, but a combination of the two make this product a delight to inhale. I felt as if my nasal passages were wide open yet the scent wasn't overwhelming.
I used this product in my foot bath and on other occasions I dumped some of the contents of this 12 oz jar into my bath tub. Each time, both my feet and body felt soft and smooth. I didn't have any sore joints so I can't tell you if it helps in that area.
The ingredients include epsom and sea salts, rose petals, peppermint oil, as well as other natural oils. For only $12 this product was worth the money. Can you make this product at home? Of course you can, but I know I won't be drying rose petals any time soon so I can just pick up my bath soak from Pooka. I should also note that you obviously will be picking up rose petals from your bathtub after the water drains.
Happy Soaking!!!!
How do you unwind after a hard week?
Nail of the Week
This week I am wearing Charla by Zoya, this $8 polish is a close match for Watermelon Rind by China Glaze.
One coat looks pretty weak as shown in the picture below.
But after a second coat, this sparkling metalic polish is perfect. This is a glitter free product!
On the Big Screen
Oh Happy Day- Red Tails opens in theaters today. Please support this film which highlights the trails and accomplishments of the Tuskegee Airmen !!!! Did I mention that this film features some top notch actors including Mr. Terrence Howard...heeyy

Skin MD Naturals -Did it work?
Here is what I love about skin MD:
No animal products or testing
• Dermatology tested
• Fragrance and colorant free
• Hypoallergenic
• Paraben free
• Non-comedogenic
It also contains chamomile, aloe leaf extract and vitamin E.
The lotion is very creamy and thin in consistency, it is almost feels like water when I apply it to my hands. I should also tell you that this product can be used from your face down to your feet.
I have seen some really great reviews of this product, but I had a mixed personal experience. This lotion is said to be so powerful that it is able to help pamper the skin of those who have psoriasis and eczema. Since I don't have such skin ailments I was excited to have possibly identified my winning product.
A mysterious dry patch appeared on one of my wrists a few months ago, it's just this one area that is drier than every other inch of skin on my body. Perhaps a chemical burned that area of my wrist, I don't know but whatever it was, that persistent dryness was killing me. If I put lotion on my hands, that area on the back of my wrist would be the first section to become ashy. I applied the Skin MD and I can tell you that the mysterious dry patch is HISTORY. I don't know where it came from but I know that it responded quite well to the Skin MD formula.
Although this part of my hand had been cured, every other section of skin on my hands did not respond well to the Skin MD natural lotion. The dry patch was well moisturized while the normal/dry sections were drier than the Sahara dessert. My hands were very ashy. I thought it could possibly be my unique skin so I allowed others to use the product and they received the same results, dry skin. I used the product on my face and I had smooth flake free skin.
This product has totally confused me, working for some sections of skin but not others. I guess my search continues. Have you tried Skin MD naturals?

From Head to Toe and WHO APPROVED THIS
I also love the fact that this oil is available in a variety of scents, I selected coco mango. I mentioned on one of my videos that the coco mango scent really does smell like a fruity mixture of coconuts and mangos (emphasis is placed more on the mango/ fruity scent as opposed to a strong coconut scent).
For my body this oil absorbs as well as coconut oil, maybe a little better so that works out well for me too! I feel like the oil absorbs well but that generally translates into the fact that I need to apply more if I want to maintain my shiny glow that you all know I love.
I would totally get this product again, in fact I am going to upgrade and get the largest bottle possible.
Some of the ingredients include - rice bran oil, walnut oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, sweet almond oil and black seed oil.
Have you tried this after bath oil? Which oils rock your boat? Do you seal your hair after moisturizing?
In the Theaters
Yesterday I saw this trailer (see below) for a new movie entitled "our Family Wedding" which features many well known actors. - Does anyone else have a problem with Regina King being married to Forrest Whitaker while playing the MOM to Lance Gross? I think she looks way too young to be linked to Forrest or playing the momma to Lance. Although I'm glad she is working, I am still left asking #whoapprovedthis ? What are your thoughts

Evenly Gorgeous Skin
When a person has beautiful even toned skin, it generally becomes the topic of conversation. We just can't help but acknowledge it as we try to figure out what we need to do to get it. At least in my book beautiful skin trumps makeup any day of the week. I was eager to try the Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating body wash and the Evenly Gorgeous body bar from Caress since it claims to help you unveil smooth even toned skin. This product has burnt brown sugar which is supposed to gently exfoliate your skin. You can actually see the tiny brown pellets floating through the body wash. Although you will certainly feel the little sugar granules rubbing against your skin, they are not abrasive enough to irritate your delicate skin. Shea butter or karite butter as it is labeled on the bottle, is also included in the formula to keep your skin moisturized. The scent is delightful, it smells like warm brown sugar with

If you are not a fan of body washes, this product is also available in a solid bar form. Each bar contains the same tiny granules that you would find in the liquid version of this product.
Unfortunately, I didn't unveil eye catching even toned skin, perhaps more bottles are needed for that to happen but my skin was feeling rather smooth and silky.
For my fellow ingredient junkies I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that three dyes are included in this sls body wash, but this paraben free solution also includes yummy molasses!
Have you tried this product? What are your findings?
*I received this bottle of body wash and solid bar soap from Caress- thanks.
