Avocado Conditioner

You already saw my first attempt at creating an avocado hair treatment, so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered an avocado based hair conditioner from shescentit.com. This is a pretty loose conditioner, not nearly as thick as conditioners that I normally use but it works really well. The scent is sweet although I can’t specifically identify that fragrance. It is designed to moisturize over processed, dry frizzy hair. While I would not describe my hair as frizzy or over processed it is dry so I was eager to try the product. I feel because of the loose consistency I use more than I should, I am already heavy handed with product and this just allowed me to easily scoop more into my hand as I layered it on. My hair was lacked shine when it was all said and done but it had a great scent to it and it held my curls like you would not believe. My hair was super bouncy days after using that conditioner and my hair didn’t feel like hay.
I would purchase this conditioner again if it didn’t include parabens but it does…sigh. This simply means that I will use the Banana Brule conditioner instead of the avocado conditioner.
Check out some of the other ingredients: Avocado Oil, Vitamin E, Grape seed oil, Castor Oil, Glycerin, cetyl alcohol, Coconut oil, citric acid, Germaben, Aqua, Stearalkonium Chloride (plant derived), phosphoric acid, fragrance, color.

Why does that conditioner look delicious to me? It's like a green pudding. Yummy. LOL---parabens? Noooo! Aside from that it sounds fab, though. Ugh--it's always something, uh? We're better off making our own products.

Hmm, now that sounds interesting--except for the lack of shine.

I'm with B, it certainly does look tasty!

I also love shine...but I think I could sacrifice it for scent, bounce and moisture.

How did this compare to your Aveda dry hair shampoo/treatment/conditioner.

I am an absolute product junkie myself!! So glad I stumbled upon your blog! I will be coming back. I finished my transition and am looking for a good conditioner that eases the knots out of my tresses when detangling. This may help!

Do you know of a good, natural, and NON-Drying shampoo? It seems that now I am natural, every shampoo dries my hair out!

If you have time please check out my blog The P.O.S.H. Life http://poshlifeposhstyle.com/

@TD, Yes but if you check my post from today...i got mega shine:-)
@PBW good question, I would have to say that the dry rememdy treatment wins overall but it will certainly lose when it comes to the scent. I would say that the dry line and the damage rememdy line will win because of the shine factor. Also both of those lines are free of parabens which this conditioner is not.
@B More if you do please let me know how you like it.
@CocoaDiva HEy I checked out your site and I love ittttt. As for your shampoo situation I would scream from a mountain top to stay away from shampoos that have sulfates. Perhaps you would want to try the aveda damage remedy or the aveda dry rememdy shampoo, both of them are natural based and contain no sulfates or parabens. I also like the honey Child shampoo that I used today though I don't know if it will give you what you desire. For now maybe sticking with the aveda products I mentioned will work for you. If you are deciding between the two maybe you will want to try the dry remedy one first. The main difference between the two is the addition of protein which is in the damage remedy shampoo. There are so many other things that I would like to share with you about shampoos and conditioners etc. so if you want to email me feel free to do so at product_junkie_queen@yahoo.com
Thanks for reading everyone
