Long Lasting indeed

(Sorry I had to use my camera phone again)
I tried out the Maybelline SuperStay lip color and it stays on for hours. As usual with these lip colors, one side of the tube is the actual color and the other side is the gloss that goes over the lip color. This particular color is #380 Blackberry glaze- I really thought this color would show up darker but oh well. Although this product does work I will not be buying any more of the long lasting lip glosses/ lip sticks because of the lead found in those items. I have seen conflicting reports, some say that the amount of lead in lipsticks isn't nearly enough to harm people, while other reports make you want to run for the hills and leave all makeup behind. I'm sure lead can be found in more cosmetic items than we would care to know about but for now I will just start by giving the long lasting lip colors the boot. It could all end up being harmless but this is just my personal decision-this gloss does work though..LOL
The pic on the left was taken before I placed the gloss over the lip color. The pic on the right shows the shiny version of this gloss.
It will cost you about $7.99.
I think I'm heading to Lush today....anything I should look out for?
What are you getting into this weekend?

Pocket Friendly

After hearing a rave review of the Hollywood Beauty Olive Cholesterol, I knew I had to try it. This deep conditioning creme for damaged hair claims that it will provide "super shine & moisture." I allowed it to sit on my head for roughly 15 minutes and then I rinsed the thick creme out of my hair. My hair was soft and I did see a shine to it, although I will not say that it was "super shiny" because it was not. As a go to product when I don't want to spend too much money this is an item that I would consider purchasing again. If you can see the price tag on the side of the jar, this item costs $2.99. I've seen it at CVS and others stores too but it is never more than $3.99 for the 20 oz jar, which makes this an financially friendly find.
Now on to the ingredients...sigh- yes, it includes 2 parabens toward the end of the list. The good news is that some better ingredients fall at the top/middle of the list. Some of the better ingredients include nette, olive oil, calendula, aloe, sage and coconut oil.
This post would not be complete if I didn't tell you that this conditioner has a surprisingly sweet scent.
Have you tried this product?

Rub a Dub in the tub - Ribgate& Housewives

Dove has a Go Fresh campaign going on and I am seeing the commercials and ads everywhere. I tried the Nectarine and Ginger scented body wash and I really liked it. I don't usually like the scent of ginger but I couldn't smell it at all in this product so that was a plus for me. It's body soap so what more can I say? lol It got the job done and didn't leave me with dry skin.
I purchased my large size bottle at CVS for roughly $5.00 (it was on sale).

This lovely shoe was designed by Shäri Gray, the latest shoe making sensation on the rise. Check out her interview and more of the shoes on Clutch Mag.

If I have any shoe designers reading this blog, can you send me an email at product_junkie_queen@yahoo.com thanks.

College Hill- BET actually named the episode RibGate.....
I think Brandon showed his true colors by not sticking to his work and accepting any wrath that would have come from Kay eating Kyle's ribs. By no means am I suggesting that he needed to accept responsibility but since he mentioned it and Kay is supposed to be his big time buddy from school, one would assume it wouldn't be a struggle for him to keep his word.
We all know that Kyle loves drama but Kay should not have started a battle if she didn't want to face any consequences.
Stacy and her boo...ummm ok next topic lol.
Tiffany seems to get lost in the shuffle on that show, but next week as ribgate continues, we will see how she handles her feelings for two men (her significant other and Chris).
Housewives
Jill finally had her event and it went off without a hitch. I have to say I too would not have wanted to discuss any problems with Bethenny right before my big speech. Bethenny was annoying!
Isn't it funny how Kelly, in her own words, likes to be the person in the background and she doesn't want any attention yet she seemed pretty upset when Jill neglected to give her an award at the event...
I really don't like it when people try to fake being humble...please knock it off.
In a nutshell, the reunion looks like it will be entertaining. The Countess will address a problem she has with Kelly,Ramona and others will go at it.

My hair says- thanks DB

I try to bring a little variety to my posts by not talking about hair products only or a particular brand daily. However today is an exception because I need to talk with you about Darcy's botanicals again today. One of the friendliest bloggers around, Amina, put me on to Darcy's botanicals because she knows how much I adore hair products and all things natural/organic/vegan. I decided to try a few items but today I will talk about one that is quickly pushing ahead of the pack to become one of my hair favorites. When I saw the name Tucuma Butter Moisture Whip I was mainly hesitant because I had no idea what the whip was going to smell like. When I first sniffed the product, I didn't know exactly how to identify the scent. I later fell in love with this scent! Every time I get a whiff of my hair is smells so delicious and I wonder if others can smell it too.
The 4oz jar is filled with this custard-like hair moisturizer that smooths out any frizziness and softens the hair. I really enjoy using this product and I just ordered more last night!
Of course this is a natural, paraben free product.
Ingredients: Organic Aloe, Vegetable Glycerin, Vegetable Wax, Distilled Water, Organic Jojoba, Tucuma Butter, Avocado Oil, Organic Kalahari Melon Seed Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, Organic Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E, Rice Bran Oil, and a paraben-free preservative.
For $12.00 this is a great item, but I still wish she would offer larger sizes. Have you tried Darcy's Botanicals? If so, what did you get?
Any other fabulous natural companies that I should check out?
Packaging
I should also mention that I love the way the DB owner ships the products. She puts dried rose petals in the box so you get your items shipped in a well scented box.
If you look on the left side of the box you will see a little note which tells you about the products you purchased. Well Done DB, well done!

Myamme is the winner of "I love Money", making this the second consecutive female winner. Since this is only the second season of this game, all the winners have been women. "It" although you revealed to the world that it was all a game and you are not as dense as you may appear to be, you still LOST!!! How disappointing..lol
Did you watch?
Gotti's Way
Last night began season two of Gotti's Way or Gotti's something. Uggggh!
If you watched last night was it me or did you get the impression Irv. Gotti's parents were telling Deb (Irv's wife) not to ask for a divorce even though Irv is a big time cheater....ummm helllllo. In my opinion it's like they were saying well you hae these kids and a nice house so overlook the blatant disrespect being shown to you. Unacceptable, especially since Angie (the daughter) is in the house watching all of this and learning from her mother. Hopefully Angie can break the cycle by never allowing herself to be disrespected in this manner.
Sigh...
College Hill
Did you see the preview for the College Hill episode tonight. I think there will be an argument over a spare rib...ok BET I've had enough..lol
What will you be watching tonight?

EFAs just PEACHY!

I received my first order from Darcy's Botanicals and I immediately washed my hair to try the new products. I will give you detailed reviews on all of the products that I purchased but first I must talk about the free gift. The Juicy Peach Kernel Oil is a Super absorbent oil that can be used on your hair although it is mainly marketed as a body oil. When I tell you this is iithe least oily oil, I mean it. As I dabbed this kernel oil on my neck and on my wrists, it just seeped into my skin, leaving no oily residue behind. As the name suggests, this product smells like fresh plump ripe juicy peaches.
Now you may be wondering why I have the letters EFA in the title of my post so here is the EFA low down:
EFA stands for essential fatty acids, which is needed by your skin to remain healthy. What's important to note is that our bodies don't produce EFAs so we must get those needed fatty acids through the things we eat. EFAs can assist with the regulation of our cells which directly impacts healthy skin. Those who do not have high enough levels of EFAs have experienced problems with their skin such as eczema and psoriasis as well as hair loss!
Now while I pop a few Omega 6 and Omega 3 pills, I will be sure to rub this 42% EFA rich Peach Kernel Oil on my skin.
The 4oz bottle is sold for $12.00 and I am buying it for SURE.

Please Note-Those who eat fresh fish (not fried) keep it up because that is one way of getting in your EFA's. So for all of you non fish eaters, how are you loading up on your EFAs?

Pot-O-Color

(sorry I had to use my camera phone again)

I named this post pot-o-color because that is exactly what you are looking at. These two Nars lacquers just give you color in a pot. This is not colored vaseline, it is straight COLOR. You can apply very little for a light hue or slap on a little more for vibrant lips. The color on the left is Diablo and on the right we have Caraibe. Caraibe is described as a golden nude shimmer)- it's like butterscotch to me. Diablo is described as apple red and I can't disagree. I can show you pics if you would like of the Caraibe but it really is a golden shimery color so the camera may not pick up the punch that this lip lacquer packs. The red one on the other hand...ok ok just scroll down- first you will see the very light application then the bold red lip.

Now for the darker application- It makes me feel like the Joker from Batman. Geesh I just can't rock red lips....this was quickly wiped off before heading out into the public..lol. I will mix Diablo with browns to get the perfect hue.

My only negative comment is- Nars would it kill you to make this wonderful lacquer smell better than a tube of Elmers glue? Thanks PJD
Both lacquers cost $24.00 each.
Reader's Request
Now I will answer your question Mrs. Savvy, the wonder whiz financial blogger... Savvy wanted more of a comparison between Cliniques Black Honey and Sultry by Smashbox, so here it is in my latest edition of BATTLE IT OUT.
For new readers-Battle it out is the segment of this blog where two products with similar claims go head to head or tube to tube for my bucks!

I mentioned earlier this week that the color of a person's lip can have an impact on how well the color of some glosses appear on that person so I got a bright idea..lol. I decided to only paint HALF of my bottom lip with 1 coat of both sultry and then black honey. This would allow you to see the real difference between the color of my lips and the actual product. This is really no contest at all because Sultry gives you more color for your buck and the color that you see in the tube is MUCH closer to what you get as opposed to that little tease black honey...lol
First up is sultry which has one coat on the left side ONLY of my bottom lip. You can also see how much darker it is than the natural color of my lips.
Now Black Honey show me what you've got.

Whomp Whomp, as you can see black honey fails to deliver in the color department. It is so light that you can barely see it on the left side of my bottom lip. However it is still moisturizing and silky soft as I mentioned in my review.
Sultry is the winner by way of KO!
