I had to do it!

I really like Phyto and Phytospecific products so when I read about the Phyto 9 Daily Ultra Nourishing Botanical Cream I was ecstatic. This hydrating cream contains 9 different plant extracts, (doesn't that sound great) that work together to make "very dry hair" soft and moisturized....NOT! This product pretty much evaporated into thin air as soon as it hit my hair. Now either my hair is beyond "ultra dry" or this product does not do what it claims.
This breaks my heart but I must throw a Phyto product into the "SKIP IT" files.

This Phyto 9 Daily nonsense is priced at $26 for a 1.7 ounce tube.

Hey PJD,

Let me tell you that I have tried Phyto 7 ( I didn't even know there was a 9) but I agree that it is an absolute waste of my money! It does not do what it says on the tube. WHAT SHINE, or level of softness does it create! Its all hogwash! I know i sound upset but that tube was $26! I'd rather stick with my ultimate shine and soft hair promoter thats much cheaper for relaxed hair= It's all about the COCONUT OIL :-)

Yes Jem79 Phyto 7 does exist...lol Since I started out with 9 I didn't even want to try 7 because I knew the 7 meant it had fewer plant botanicals. I completely agree with what you have written in that it does not do what it claims. I dispensed a small amount of Phyto 7 in my hand and I saw that the consistency is basically the same as Phyto 9 so I said no thanks to that...
COCONUT OIL is WONDERFULI I will soon do a post on it highlighting the many benefits of it.

Hey PJD,

Currently, I've been using Phyto7 and I have to agree with you ladies it doesn't bring much shine to your hair. Nonetheless, I see the Phyto7 as almost medicine for my hair b/c of all those great plant botanicals. I don't worry about my hair being shiny b/c in the end the coconut oil takes care of that. But Phyto7 shouldn't say it brings shine to the hair when in actuality it doesn't! I put my Phyto7 everyday before I wrap my hair. What kind of coconut oil do you use product junkie diva? Can't wait to read your post on coconut oil! :-)

I like a company to always be honest about a product. I know they want to sell their items but gee whiz, why mention shine if you know it won't provide a shine. However, I have to keep in mind the type of hair that I have, perhaps Phyto 7 is giving women with another hair texture tons of shine...who knows.
I have used coconut oil from different companies with much success I just need to see two words, unrefined and organic.
And I love the shine that it leaves on my hair...just beautiful!

Hi PJD,

What are your thoughts on Aveda products?

Hello Anonymous
I have heard wonderful things about Aveda but I have yet to use it myself. The product that I wanted to purchase was discontinued but I have another Aveda product on my radar. As soon as I purcahse and use this product you can look for my full review.
