Why All the Hype?

I heard so many great things about Infusium 23 that I just had to make a purchase (in my pre probation days). Infusium 23 is supposed to strengthen your hair and it can be used after a perm, color process or other chemical treatment to revitalize your hair. When I go to my salon for a touch up I see Infusium on the counter and one of my stylists just loves the stuff. I purchased the original Infusium23 in the brown and white bottle to see how my hair would benefit from the product. After trying it out the first time I said to myself" at least this junk only costs $6.99", my hair turned into exactly what Infusium is supposed to remedy. My hair was dry and brittle, now I understand that Infusium is protein so your hair will need some moisture after it is applied but it seemed like it needed way more moisture than I could give. There are other forms of protein that I could apply to my hair which won't leave my with a dry mess. Now you would think I would have learned my lesson right?
Nope. I then purchased the moisturizing version of Infusium23 and that was a little better than the original pro vitamin formula. My hair was not as dry but it was still dry enough to get on my nerves. I had to mix it with other products just for it to work on my hair properly. This single paraben Infusium23 product and all of the various formulas of Infusium must be thrown into the "SKIP IT" files.
I do understand that different products work for different people so I want to hear from you.
Have you used this product? If so what were your results?

when i was younger (when my mom used to still wash my hair), my mom used infusium and it worked well. this was back when they had like one formula on the shelves. as the company started adding new versions, it started not to work as well for me. i havent given it another chance since. i was contemplating giving it a try but thanks to this post, i will not. so THANKS!

When I was a shorty, I used to use infusium. It was nice, then. I forgot all about them. I'm glad you tried this out, so I know not to get nostalgic.

I started using Infusium in college when roommates highly recommended it. And I've been using it since. I needed a liquid leave in conditioner and this fits the bill. I felt it help detangle my hair as well. But since I've used it with other products I never noticed any problems, no hard hair here.

I used this stuff for over a year, which is a lot for me because normally I only try a shampoo until the bottle runs out. I still use the leave in but not the shampoo or conditioner anymore.

I wear my hair curly the majority of the time and the last time I tried this stuff, years ago, it left my hair a hard dry mess! No thanks from me!

Since you are out of probation, I have a line for you to try. I use Enjoy products. It is a line from Cali. I use the pink luxury shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner...I love it, love it, love it! Although, I've been pooing with the moisturizing line and conditioning with the luxury line. Love it...oh, I said that already.

Thanks for reviewing this. I've been wondering what the hype was all about. I saw my brother (he's a stylist) use this once when he was starting out and the girl's hair turned to straw. I've been scared of it every since. I'll skip it.

I completely agree. I used Infusium a few years ago after hearing how great it was and seeing the commercials with that girl from "Coming to America". Hated it! It was terrible and my hair was dry and brittle also. Thanks for this! Sometimes you think you're the only one...

My mom used to swear by this stuff when I was growing up. I actually thought about giving it a try a gain myself...but I think I will stick to my current regime.

Thanks for the review.

AW, too bad you had a bad experience with these products =( I use Infusium shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner every time I go to the river. It is the only thing that works to detangle my after after it gets nasty and knotted in the dirty water. I actually just blogged about how much I loved this product not too long ago.

Great blog =)

I use it on the regular, and there is a kind of trick to not having hard hair after using this product. I use very little of the product, and it keeps my hair strong without being hard. I use about 1/8 of a teaspoon and rub it in my hands and then massage my fingers through my hair.

Thanks Nicole. I have given my bottles away but I'm sure your tips can help other Infusium users..thanks.

O I'm sorry this didn't work for you diva... I only use the moisture leave-in treatment on this product line (step 3) after I wash & it only helps & improves my hair. I've heard some ladies say it has too much protein 4 them but that never brothered me. My stylists insists I use it, my hair NEEDS it. I use this along with the Fantasica IC leave-in treatment & it works fine, makes my hair shiny after my roller set.

Lauren one of my stylists loves this stuff but for me, I just couldnt get it to work. I figured there had to be another protein treatment that would work well for me. Glad it's working for you though.
