Bravo to the advertising team

There may be many reasons why we buy products but one is probably because we were enticed by great advertising. The advertising team behind Aveeno Pure Radiance have done a splendid job because when I see this line I only think of natural ingredients, soy and beautiful skin. So you can imagine my surprise when I looked at the ingredients last night only to find that nearly the entire last line of ingredients consists of various parabens....yikes. Soy is in the mix as promised but not as close to the top of the list as I would like.
Well I will stop my rant long enough to tell you that I like this product ( at least before reading the ingredients). The Aveeno Pure Radiance cleansing pads has smooth side to gently clean sensitive areas while the bumpy side can be used to gently exfoliate the skin. Although this foaming cleansing pad can be used daily that does not work for my skin so I use it every now and then. This product is priced anywhere from $8.00-$9.99
Do you use Aveeno? If so, please comment about your experience.

UPDATE- I officially started my product probation on August 3rd and I have not made a product related purchase since that day. I really can't believe I have gone this long without breaking down. So far this process is forcing me to get rid of products that I don't need and to use the product I had forgotten about.

LOL, you must have read my mind. I was thinkin'..."Isn't this chick on probation?" but you're doing good so kudos to you! Yeeeep, these companies do get us with the advertisements, don't they? I guess the only way to get all-natural products is to make it at home...because they certainly won't sell it to you.

Yep, there's a whole movement of "green marketing." People package these goods like they are really something natural and they are not. Good catch!

Good job on the probation! When I saw that picture from yesterday I was thinking you fell off the wagon hard! I tried that Aveeno stuff before but it irritated my face, then again air irritates my face.....

Oh, I feel like a bad blogger. I wanted to say I'm very proud of you for the product probation. Your blog is just as strong!

On another tip, after reading your post, I looked at this bottle of Aveeno active natural daily exfoliating cleanser I've been using. I had to PEEL AWAY the label to see the ingredients. And what did I see? PARABENS! I'm over Aveeno.

@B lol yup I have been a good gal. You are right, I do enjoy making products at home, that is when I get a chance to do it.
@Frugalista that is so true that's why it is important to read labels.
@TM No I know exactly what you mean that is why I could never use that product daily, it could only be every now and then because my skin would become irritated.
@Renren I would like to live vicariously through you..lol
@DE thx
@Antithesis..it is very HARD but thanks for the support.
@Mrs. B. thx for the support. there is more to come :-)

Stay strong girl you will feel so good keeping this promise to your self, I know it is hard you can do it.

I have not had any experinece with Aveeno, but a friend of mine said it dried her skin and she broke out, and a woman a work swears by it.

i used to love those pads but then i started using them all the time and irritated my skin (i was like scrubbing), i turned my mom onto those. the cleanser they have is the same thing and you can clean with your own cloth or whatever. i like their line a lot but like you i am always looking for the next best thing. i want instantaneous beauty. hahaha

I love those pads. Although I've only used them twice, I really did like the way it removed oil and dirt from my skin. I used them while staying with a friend so I didn't buy it myself, but I totally would.
