As I become a wiser eye shadow consumer I'm learning that I really appreciate the texture of a creamy eye shadow. I purchased L’oreal's HIP cream eye shadow paint in the color Nervy. The product comes in a neat little case that I am sure most people dispose of but I have decided to hold on to it. The makers of this L’oreal product also provide you with a brush to apply the eye shadow. The brush is not a cheap flimsy brush with cheap hairs, it has medium level resistance yet it is soft enough to glide over your lid effortlessly. Although I won't purchase this particular c
olor again I do like this product.
Here is my color swatch.
HIPS Cream Shadow Paint comes with an $11.99 price tag at CVS.
What's your preference, creamy shadows, mineral eye shadows or the tried and true eye shadow compacts?

I just don't do eye shadow, although the cream ones will probably work the best for me. I do love L'Oreal's HIP lip glosses though! :-)
Enjoy your long weekend!!
i prefer the compacts and am scared to venture out to anything different. im with you, i dont particularly like that color but ive heard so much about hip i might break down and give it a try. im happy you found a type of eye makeup you like!
hey! i like all kinds of shadows, but creamy ones for me are a bit more difficult, hence most of them just become bases for me. i love these as a base, they are very similar to mac's paints!
i prefer powder eyeshadows. I found cream eyeshadow to crease after a few hours. Recently i purchased MAC paintpots in artifact and constructivist and use those as base...very pretty!
@BGG Eye shadow is not something that I wear everyday at all in fact I can still count on one hand the times I have worn it. However I soooo wish you could try the colors I have from Illusions cosmetics it is totally for US and it would look great on you!!!
In fact I am away this weekend for a special event and I packed my eye shadow :-)
@Antithesis take a chance at least once just to get the feel of it. I am by no means an eye shadow pro but i like the feel of the creamy shadows.
@Yummy maybe becuase I dont do all the blending and merging of colors like you pros.. I just put on the color, oh and then I put a little of another color at the corning but I don't think that counts as blending. I will have to try the mac paints..sounds like fun
@Nywele again with the Mac paints, this must be GOOD..lol i will have to try it.
thanks ladies enjoy the extra day off.

I love L'Oreal HIP. I hope you know you can snag these buy 1, get 1 free. That's the best time to buy them. Fab!
why dont you like the color? i like powder shadows and use cream ones for bases. but i like the paint pots as shadows sometimes depending on the color becasue they apply easy and they are subtle (with the right colors). i guess i am no help, i like both!
@DivineBlackness I will certainly look for the buy 1 get 1 free sale.
@Just me, the color looks like silver on my eye lids and thats too bright for me, like I have aluminum foil over my eyes. Especially since I am just getting into using color on my lid from time to time, this color is just too much.
I have watched your videos so I am very much like you in staying in the brown family.

I love creamy shadows but hate the once it builds up in the crease. Hopefully once I get the Urban Decay primer, that will change.
And I'm diggin the Hip collection, from glosses to shadows.
Hey Jewells
I like the feel of creamy shadows also. I need to try the hip lip glosses.
Thanks for stopping by.
