I thought makeup for a buck, well then it must be garbage, but since it is only $1 why not give it a shot. So I purchased a few E.L.F. (eyes lips face) products just to test things out. Today I am writing about the creamy eye shadows that I purchased for $1 each. ELF has these dual pots of creamy eyeshadow so I purchased, Olive, Mixed Berry and Butter Pecan:
Here is a picture of the Olive color on my forearm. I did not pile it on I just wanted to give you a little color swatch. You can click on any of the the pictures to enlarge them. This is an ultra creamy eye shadow, I thought the pigment was nice but the light olive product was a little too light for me but it did last pretty long without a primer. The darker shade was not super dark but it served it's purpose, I think a person would simply have to add more if the eye shadow is not dark enough after the first swipe. These are all going to my mom since I am not officially on the eye shadow bandwagon, (at least not on a daily basis also I am just sticking to shades of brown for now).
Any ELF reviews out there???? Anyone willing to try makeup for $1.

I tried ELF's mineral powder foundation and blush, but didn't like either.
However, I'm intrigued by that olive eyeshadow. I like the way it looks against brown skin.
PJD, I have tried ELF but only the lip glosses since I didn't think the make up would be dark enough since I am a darker and feared it would look ashy on my skin. Wow, it's been a while since I have been on the ELF site and they have really expanded their line.
I used to be like you PJD and I was not on the eyeshadow bandwagon but I started out slowly with more natural colors and now I can wear more vivid colors. No color scares me now as long as it looks great on.I don't like to put on so much makeup that I don't even recognize myself nor do I like to feel like I have makeup on so that is why I love the Bare Escentuals line. I have about 7 of their eyeshawdows.

i told u i would wait for your review before making a purchase on that site. im glad i didnt have to wait too long! i'm still on the fence about them since u are not a big shadow fan. let us know how your mom likes them.
Those colors look good on your arm...Intriguing, even. But iono if it's worth cheating on M.A.C. with $1 make up. I know I'm the Frugalista but I am just wary.
How are they able to keep price down so low?
Hey PJD,
I've seen ELF, but I am concerned about a product for a $1.
yes i know E.L.F products. a friend of mine used them a lot but i find their products not to be too pigmented!
do the eyeshadows crease?
another friend has some elf in her beauty to go case in her car. That way if she needs to go somewhere, she can add some color while waiting for the traffic lights to change...
Well, the swatches look pretty good to me. Can't beat that for only $1. Never tried Elf.
Not gonna lie, the $1 price scares me.
reminder: mac's neo sci-fi line is out (remember my post about it a little while back?). i can't wait for you to review that!
I am soooo on the eyeshadow bandwagon. I want to try those new bold colors by Covergirl.
The olive looks good on your arm. Never heard of ELF. May have to give them a try.
i just placed an elf order. i got that creme shadow i think and a little bit of other stuff i think
@PBW If you try it out I can't wait for your review.
@Moon Perhaps you would like the creamy shadows, I don't see how that version could look ashy.
@Antithesis, mom liked it, by the time I saw her it was in the evening and I couldn't tell it was even on until I looked closely. I know she doesn't use primer so maybe that would have helped.
@Frugalista I am not sure how they keep the price down but they keep the price low because they believe that all women should have access to makeup if they want it. Not everything sold by ELF is 1.00 most, but not all. They have mineral foundations that cost $5.00 which still isn't bad. They also have body washes that are more expensive.
@TravelDiva, I see a few of the ladies here are scared of the low price tag..funny huh?
@Nywele it does not crease, the entire time it is on your lid it feels like butter, butter that does not melt, it's just really creamy. If doesn't harden and doesn't crease. I have seen women at traffic lights applying makeup, way too dangerous for me...
@DivineBlackness if you try it you know I will be checking for your review.
@Eliana embrace the buck the products won't rip your skin off. :-)
@Jewells Justme Did a great post on those new cover girl colors. check it out. She wrote in this comment section so you can just access her site that way.
