Motivation

I posted a long time ago about the need to get physically fit but I have fallen off the wagon, I mean way off the wagon. I have since jumped on the " please pass the cake wagon”, which is not a good place to be. I want to lose the pounds I have gained to feel healthier ,to slip into all of the outfits that I like and to buy new ones of course. So how do you get yourself motivated to get fit. What workout routines keep your blood pumping?
Thanks

I fell off the wagon, too. I promise to work out if you promise to work out. Fit friends forever?

I fell off the wagon and i am the motivator for let's go to coldstone.
I am also trying to get back to shape and what works for me is variety! I take cardio kickboxing classes and strength...my goal is to take 3 kickboxing and one strength for a month! I started Monday....
my motivation is i want to be 40 and still able to enjoy an ice cream...we have diabetes in the family...

@Frugalista I promise, so when are we getting started? :-)
@Nywele I like dthe idea of switching it up. I think I will use my tae bo tapes on some days treadmill two days out of the week and my air climber the remaining days. I know that you already know how careful we all have to be when it comes to diabetes, so that is great motivation.
Thanks ladies

I'm just joined a few challenges on nikeplus.com! Great for motivation! You don't have to run, if you're not a runner- you can walk. But, you will need the Nike + Ipod kit...

You should check it out! :)

I am serious about staying in shape. My regular routine consists of cardio ffor 30 minutes and weight training. I've been a member of Bally for almost three years now. A lot of women make the mistake of doing a lot of cardio workouts but do not weight train bc they are afraid of getting too "bulky." Building muscle helps to burn fat so it is important to include weight and strength training to workout routines. On a great week I got to the gym 4 times a week. It makes me feel better, sleep better and just energized! :-)

I usually like to run at least 6 miles a week. Like I said, "usually" because I have not done so in the last week or so.

One thing that is motivating me to get back on the ball is the fact that I am losing weight since I only eat chicken and veggies for lunch and dinner. So I figure re-incorporating workout back into my regimen, these 20lbs will fall off in no time.

I agree with Bellefille84. I think strength training is the most efficient and quickest way to shape up.

Even if you don't lose a pound, your clothes will probably fit better and you might even drop a size.

The only thing I can muster up enough energy to do is take long walks and that's pretty easy to do in NYC since it's such a pedestrian-friendly city.

Good luck!
