Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

Whether it is our hair or our skin, we are constantly reminded of the importance of moisturizing.
Although I have a few facial lotions that I love, I decided to try the Aveda brand moisturizer. Since the brand does so well for my hair, I wanted to let it loose on my face. I purchased the All Sensitive Moisturizer by Aveda for 33.00 (for the 5 oz bottle).
I must report so far so good, my face is moisturized and it is not at all sticky or heavy on my face. Since I have combination skin this is the product the Aveda specialist suggested for me especially when I told her that my skin is sensitive. I love how light this moisturizer is on my skin, I only wish it included an spf. It includes grape seed oil and flower extracts along with some roots that I have not heard of before.
Is anyone using a moisturizer that they made or one that is 100% natural?
I will visit all of your blogs later today.
Thanks for reading.

That Oil of Olay is the truth. I use it too. I don't have sensitive skin but I use that one. For dark spots it's shea or cocoa butter and jojoba oil during the winter months.

I think that I will delve into more Aveda products now because girl I"ve been trying volumizing shampoos and conditioners lately and guess what?? I walked into Aveda and decided to try the Pure Abundance Line! OMGOOODNESS I'm so in love! None of the other products I tried had near the effect I had when I washed my hair. My hair was strong, full and soft all at the same time!

AVEDA ROCKS

I MUST use Oil of Olay daily. It's my tried and true and has yet to fail me!!

I keep hearing great things about Aveda products. I need to try something of theirs.

Ok, I use Oil of Olay with SPF 15. I think Aveda's tripping a bit...

I am looking for a moisturizer for combination skin. Is your total skin care regimen just Aveda products? I have never used them.

I meant to answer yesterday but I was soooo busy! I use Cetaphil mixed with a little hydrocortisone cream. My skin is really sensitive and gets really itchy and splotchy as the day goes on. Since I've started using my own mix (which was only last week) I haven't had the itchiness and the bumps are subsiding.

@Renren yes it is good so far..no complaints.
@Antithesis my main skin care line is still Rx for brown skin but I just wanted to try something new.
@B Oil of Olay you say...sounds like something I need to look into.
@Just Wodnering...I will look into pure abundance sounds awesome.
@BGG You make me want to try some right now..lol
@Amina you have great skin so i am reading every word you type.
@Frugalista...the price is a bit much huh? lol See the Rx for brown skin moisturizer and the DDF are all right around that price since they cost 32 and 36 respectively so the price is ok for me. Hey if it were cheaper I wouldn't be mad at Adeva..lol
@Ericka I blogged a while ago about the skincare line that i use...here is the post http://productjunkiediva.blogspot.com/2008/01/get-your-glow-on.html
@TM Sounds like what you have created is really working for you...perfect.
Thanks for reading everyone

Hey Diva,

Yet another one of my favs! I've been using this for a few months and love it! Didn't like their regular moisturizer, but this one for sensitive skin I love. I keep mine in the fridge, it's refreshing & you get a longer shelf life.

Having been a shiny faced acne sufferer most of my life, I only just recently started using moisturizer after my recent bout of taking Accutane. It's strong stuff, but it's TOTALLY changed my sking. Anyways, I digress... Moisturizer I mostly use is either Neutrogena Healthy Defense, SPF 30 or my dermatologist has his own brand that I use w/ retinol. But one natural one I do like is by Tisserand. It's the Organic Tea-Tree Skin Balm. Smells kinda strong, but it is light & effective, and since it has tea-tree oil as a main ingredient, I don't worry about it causing any blemishes...

@Brownee Ok I have NEVER thought of putting it in the fridge, I have to try this. If you don't open a blog I don't know what I am going to do with you..lol you have great ideas!
@Flygyrl It sounds like you have really found what works for you...that's great.

I have used the full line for sensitive skin for years. It is an excellent product. (I hate olay..it did nothing for my skin)

@Anonymous, that is great to know. It seems that this product has worked for you over time which is wonderful. The great ingredients and alcohol free products must do the trick!

my problem is that i want to be all nautral also but the products i choose lack spf also. i wonder if juice beauty or juice organics would be good products

Product Junkie Diva said...

@justme I love all natural things too but not all of them agree with me. I tried juice beauty in the past and it didn't work for me. I do have sensitive skin though, I remember it making my skin tight, almost like it had some acid in it. I don't remember all of the ingredients but I am pretty sure it isn't 100% natural. The DDF ultra lite oil free moisturizing dew was a good moisturizer for me, it also has a version that has spf in it. The Aveda sensitive one is good so far too, oh and also RX for brown skin the gentle one is probably my favorite. I have combination skin by the way. Oh a while back I also tried a moisturizer by 100% pure and that is all natural but that left my skin too oily which can and did lead to breakouts. Im still searching for the best moisturizer in all of the land, DDF comes close as well as this Aveda moisturizer but I wonder if something even better exists......
