PJD's Pre Poo Process

Here is a little video documenting my pre poo (pre shampoo) process. The oils that I use in the video can be replaced with the oils of your choice. I switch up my oils from time to time.

What do you do in your pre poo process? How long do you pre poo, overnight, 30 minutes etc. ?

Fab video! I no-poo, but I would imagine that this would be pretty effective before condtioning, uh? What say you?

for my pre-poo i use just olive oil for 30 min. it detangles my hair and makes it soft and also prevents my scalp from being itchy and flakey. i read somewhere that you can add warm honey to it but i forgot what the benefits were.

Great, Great video!!!! I've never "pre-pooed" before! Since you have relaxed hair too, this is definitely something I will try.

Thanks for taking the time to produce such an informative video! :-)

Excellent video! I usually leave my pre-poo conditioner in overnight.

However, now that my new dryer arrived from Folica I'll probably sit under it for 20-30 min instead.

When I have time, I use extra virgin olive oil. Up with pre-pooing. I will try your mixture, though. Good job!

great video! I wish i knew all these techniques when i had relaxed hair. I pre-poo with coconut oil. Leave it on for 30 minutes then rinse it out...

i also did once the honey-olive pre-poo and it worked well..
the one i didn't like was the coconut milk since it dripped everywhere..

i looove videos!!

@B thanks- yes this is very effective. It makes my hair soft even before I get to the washing stage.
@Antithesis I have to try olive oil also. I generally include sweet almond oil but I ran out. I heard about the honey. I have heard people say that it made their hair soft, stronger and split end free.
@BGG thanks..lol I hope you enjoy your pre poo.
@PBW thanks ok you are an overnight pre pooer...it must be extra soft when you are done. enjoy the dryer.
@DE thanks..that was the best way that I could think of to describe it..lol
@Frugalista thanks-ok so we have two for oilve oil so far. this must be good.
@Nywele well you can still do it now and get loads of benefits :-)
@Antithesis - I knew it wouldnt be tough for you to figure it out...lol
thanks for reading

I love pre-pooing. If I'm not in the mood for oils (Usually EVOO and castor oil), I use ORS Replenishing Pac. Makes detangling soooo much easier.

@Sunshyne thanks thanks. I have so many poos and conditioner but for now I am trying to use only the Aveda Damage remedy line. I have used it several times so far and I LOVE it. Here is a post that I did on the Aveda line that I am not using http://productjunkiediva.blogspot.com/2008/06/aveda-damage-remedy-review.html
I should also mention that whatever shampoo I use now ,it is always a sulfate free shampoo.
And the song is Apologize with Blu Cantrel singing.
Thanks for reading.

Omg I know I'm late but I just saw your pre-poo vid after I asked you my pre-poo-ing quest! LOL go figure. Nice vid btw. I cant pre-poo with just oils, it will leave my hair greasy (my fine hair can get weighed down very easily) So thats why I use thick moisturizing condish. BTW, I LOVED that Apologize song by... um that pop band or group (idk their name i'm sorry but I know Timberland was in it! lol) I still like it But I had no idea there was a female version by Blu Cantrall. YES I remember her! I liked her music lol. Neway, great song & thanks 4 the vid!

Lauren thanks! Yes I use conditioners in my pre poo also it is a great way to get my hair and scalp ready for the other treatments. I love pre pooing!
I thought Blu cantrell was coming out with another album...guess not. SO many of these songs are done by more than one artists but only gets the publicity. oh well..

I am going to pre poo today with coconut oil. I was advised about it on my youtube channel to help with my breakage. I hope it helps. Not sure how long. I will do it for as long as I see fit. Is it too much to deep condition after washing as well?
