Disappointed

As a kid I had this doll, I don't remember the name of it but you would put cold water on the doll's face and makeup would appear, use hot water and the makeup was removed. I wonder if the makers of Mirror Shine nail polish also liked this doll, because they have clearly developed a nail polish that is based on this concept. I painted my nails and they looked pretty good, the next morning I took a shower and voila the nail polish was gone. I was so upset because I then had to find remover to get this mess off of my hands. This polish is supposed to have this metallic sheen but it ends up looking a bit dull. I can say that the color "Foil" (it is the color of aluminum foil) that one actually does have a nice metallic sheen but who cares if you can barely wash your hands.
I haven't done this in a while but this product was made for the "SKIP IT" files.
You will pay about $2.99 for nail polish that can perform a disappearing act.

What do you do with the products that disappoint you?

Fresh and Fab you are right, this polish is cheap indeed. I do not mind spending more for nail polish. Currently I am on the hunt for the color "recycle" by rescue beauty lounge and rainforest by Opi I believe. I saw both polishes online and I want them, two different yet equally beautiful shades of green. Since they both cost more than Mirror Shine hopefully I won't be disappointed, even though more expensive brands have disappointed me in the past.
Thanks for reading Frash and Fab

Most times I just toss them, unless it was something expensive. 2.99 goes in the trash and is a lesson learned.

Crap products get in the garbage, quick. I bought some hair smoothing cream that after a few hours, made my hair smell like I was playing on a playground.

I didn't have the heart to pawn it off on friends. I took an L on that one.

I'm glad your site is here to warn us. I get skittish about trying new brands.

There's 4 things I can't stand: cheap soap, cheap pantyhose, cheap tape, & cheap nail polish. I've tried to buy expensive polish & it lasted no time. The polish that I love/works the best for me is the $0.99-$1.99 "Wet & Wild." line. I've tried the foli polish before & Product Junkie Diva, you're 1000%right!!!!

**I've added you to my "Fierce Friends" list. I looooove this blog!

Hey PJD,

You know I do not like to be wasteful on products that I spend my money on. But this nail polish sounds like a nightmare! There are two particular products in my hair collection that I know i will not bother buying again. In the mean time, I'm just using it to finish them up so they don't go to waste.

I LOVE your product reviews!! They're always so detailed! :-)

I toss the products that are disappointing or pass them along to others who might actually like them.

Hello Ladies,
@ TravelDiva you are right it is probably just worth chucking it. However I may give it to my little cousin, she may find some value in it.
@ Antithesis - I can't argue with that!
@ Frugalista which hair products are you getting rid of?
@Park Avenue I have never worn a wet and wild nail polish. In fact I can not wear anything from that company especially since they made the news a few years back because their lipstick was giving some women infections. It turns out that the water used to make the product had come from a swamp in Mexico. Honestly I never liked wet and wild before that report hit the news, but maybe I will try the nail polish...that seems safe enough. And thanks for making me a fierce friend yayayayaya
@Bellefille which hair products are you getting rid of? Hair products always catch my attention...is one the Ojon?
@BBG thanks so much for your kind words.
You ladies that have blogs are doing such a great job and I appreciate all of you taking the time to read my reviews.

If I buy a product that disappoints me I tend to get really upset and then let it linger around as if the time spent in my presence will help me cope with the money I've wasted purchasing it. lol I know it's crazy but it makes me feel better. Then when I'm over it, I throw it away.

LOL Just wondering, you allow the product to just linger..lol
At least you eventually get rid of it.
